Scholarships

Building on Dr. Sutherland’s vision, quality continuing medical education is a high priority for the Foundation.  Each year scholarships are available to undergraduate students, interns, residents, fellows, and early practicing physicians to attend Courses in Osteopathy, especially in the Cranial Field. 

The Foundation monies may also be used to purchase teaching aids, including skulls, bones and audio-visual equipment. To apply for teaching aids contact 818-796-6750.

Course Sponsors

CME Course Sponsors who would like to have students receive scholarships can submit information to the Foundation for consideration. Contact 818-796-6750.

How to Apply

2024 GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT ANNUAL CONFERENCE GRANT

Grant: $375.00
Awardees are responsible for the remaining $375.00 in registration fees (payable to OCA).

5 Grants are available to qualified D.O. applicants.
4 Grants are available to qualified M.D. applicants.
Applications are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligible to Apply
– Osteopathic Medical Students (DO)
– Medical Students (M.D.)
– Dental Students (D.D.S./D.M.D.)
– Undergraduate Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment Fellows    (The Foundation defines “Fellow” as a current DO student who has not yet graduated and is recognized by their school as participating in an undergraduate fellowship program through their Osteopathic Principles department.)
– Residents in training, and post residency Fellows (in specialties relevant to Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine practice)
– Early career Physicians (a Physician who has been in practice for no more than ten years)

All Applicants will be notified of their application outcome.

CME: The Osteopathic Cranial Academy has requested that the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education approve this program for 21.25 hours of AOA Category 1-A CME credits, which also satisfies AMA category 1 and American Academy of Family Practice elective credit requirements.
